Did’nt I tell you about my wonderful teacher?
He taught me in a jiffy, the unique alphabet!
With alpha he taught me of Allah remember ?
With beta he placed heaven’s crown on the head!
Two letters were all that he taught me that day
“That’s all that you’ll study, come now let’s play!”
That’s what he said, my teacher divine!
Wondering I followed, merrily behind!
“What do I look like, did you ever think ?”
He asked me and replied before I could blink!
“I am very subtle, a small point of light!
What’s more little one, so are you in sight!”
“The body that you see, is not you my dear!
It is just a vehicle, to take you around here!
You are a spirit, a spirit of delight!
Of peace and of joy, of love and of might!”
“I am your father, do you remember me now ?”
I looked on in askance and he told me just how!
“We both are quite similar, but only you take rebirth
I am the one who, transforms the Earth”
“You are like the river and I am like the sea
Virtues, or knowledge, you learn them from me!
My job is to change, the old to the new
Of that O little one, you have not yet a clue!”
“Behold little one! Do you see that Banyan tree ?”
Holding my little hand, he gently asked me
I looked where he pointed, very curiously and saw
An old tree, many branches and one major flaw!
So many branches! They spread out for miles!
The funny looking tree, had put me in smiles!
Roots of these branches, to the ground they had sunk
But what was amazing , there wasn’t a trunk!
I looked at him and then burst in peals of laughter!
“That’s the tree of life” he said, and that was the next chapter
“The time has come, for you to pack up and go
Before that in this birth there is one thing to know”
“Sow all the seeds of, success that you can
At this moment of history, I reveal a wonderful plan!
For this one birth, if you are ready to become only mine
Then for 21 births, will all my treasures be thine!”
And so on went my teacher, his teachings were fun!
I say it in past tense for it's of then when life had begun!
O he is wonderful, my teacher, but I'm certain of this
That surely I've told you this glory of his!
Surely you forget, I told this to you !
A kalpa ago, this very day that too!
This too was taught by, the same sweet Old one
The wisest of all, who always was fun!
