A Leaf in the diary of a perpetual traveller

3rd April, 98. Was it imagination or did the day just feel divine?
The train journey had just begun. Ideas came flooding in. Pictorially.
And a small exhibition was drawn on my notepad.

You like to wear clean clothes... don't you?
(Imagine a pure white cotton shirt left hanging to dry)

You like to eat good clean food ... don't you?
(A plate with fresh, clean, healthy food appears)

You like clean, healthy surroundings ... don't you?
(Picturise a nice well ventilated room, with a curtain blowing in at
the door, a window showing a bountiful tree, a comfortable chair ...)

You like a pure, clean, natural environment ... don't you?
(Majestic mountains, a little stream bubbling through a beautiful green
forest in the valley, a flock of birds flying in formation towards the
rising sun ... Divine!)

You like the pure and yet naughty innocence of children ... don't you?
(A fabled krishna totally absorbed in the task of stealing butter from
an earthen pot charms the mind's eye!)

BANG!!! A movie theater with lot of shooting and bloodshed and contorted
faces on the screen appears.
You don't really like violence, hatred, murder ... do you?

A royal durbar with stately kings sitting in silence appears. They are
mutely watching an attempted disrobing of a lady. A scene from the epic
of Mahabharata. Draupadi cries out for divine intervention ...
Dushasana laughs ...
You don't really like lust, greed for power and pelf ... do you ?

A beautiful young girl thinks of a plain looking studious girl ...
and her face loses its beauty ...
You don't really like jealousy, do you?

Someone is sitting in silence. He sits with his eyes open ... but he
does not see anything in front of him. His countenance is calm and his
thoughts sublime. He is experiencing a peace not commonly experienced...

Have Pure Thoughts.
Contemplate detachedly...
Love Everyone.
Its good.
(This emerges as the theme of the exhibition)
